Bison, a folk band from Chesapeake, is attracting flocks of fans

It has impressed enough people to push one of the original songs into regular rotation at one of the major commercial rock radio station area.

"We play them every day, right next to the Foo Fighters and all the great artists," said Steel. "Their voices and what they are doing is something that matches with a 96 X."

Bison is a folk-influenced band that includes classical trained players. It is led by a 20-year-old songwriter Ben Hardesty who started the group with his father aged 46 years, associate pastor at the Church community, Chesapeake. The lyrics to many of the songs express the Christian perspective Hardesty's.
